Substitution Policy

Fresh flowers are a seasonal, living product, and availability at market changes week to week. When a specific bloom isn't available at the quality we want, we substitute it with something of equal or greater value — always keeping the style, color palette, and overall feel of the design you chose.

Why substitutions happen

Every arrangement is built the morning it goes out, using what came in fresh that week. A few things can change what's available:

  • Seasonality. Peonies, tulips, and dahlias have short seasons and simply aren't available year-round.
  • Quality at market. If a variety arrives bruised, short-stemmed, or already open, we won't use it — we'd rather substitute than send something that won't last.
  • Peak holidays. Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and graduation weekends put heavy demand on specific flowers.
  • Weather and shipping. Growing conditions and freight delays affect what reaches Houston and in what condition.

What stays the same

A substitution should never feel like a downgrade. When we make one, we hold to all of the following:

  • Equal or greater value. Substituted flowers always match or exceed the value of what they replace. You're never charged more, and you never receive less.
  • The same color palette. A blush arrangement stays blush. A bold red-and-white design stays bold red and white.
  • The same style and shape. A tall, structured design won't come back as a low compact one, and vice versa.
  • The same size and fullness. Stem counts are adjusted so the finished arrangement reads as full as the one pictured.

Container substitutions

Vases and containers may also be substituted with a piece of similar value and style. If a specific container is central to your order — a particular vase for a gift, or a piece matching your event decor — let us know when you order and we'll confirm availability before we build.

Photos are a guide

The images on our product pages show a representative example of each design, not the exact arrangement you'll receive. Because every piece is arranged by hand from the week's fresh stock, small variations in bloom size, stem placement, and shade are normal and part of what makes each one its own.

 

Balloons and event decor

Balloon colors, finishes, and sizes are subject to the same policy. We match colors as closely as available stock allows and will reach out before your event if a change would be noticeable in the finished installation.

Sympathy and funeral orders

Time-sensitive sympathy work is delivered on schedule with the closest available substitutions rather than delayed. We'll always keep the tone, palette, and scale of the piece you selected.
